The talent that exists on our island home is truly remarkable! Gratefully the Gallery Shop has partnered with a plethora of artists to ensure that visitors to Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands have plenty to choose from to remember their time visiting the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Written by Andria Winters, AGGV Gallery Shop Coordinator.

Unique in all ways, every artist brings their own flavour and feel to their work and the interpretations of our West Coast wonderland. While many are motivated by the natural landscapes, some take their own twists and turns with respect to colour palates, presenting an individualized expression of the flora and fauna that surrounds us.

Some artists venture into adding detail that only their eyes can see and others give us an alternative way of viewing what is right in front of us. In whatever way the beauty of the islands is captured, it is perfect, for art truly is an expression of diverse perspectives and creativity.

We welcome artists, creatives, and visitors from around the globe and the invitation is extended to spend some time in the Gallery Shop, because it is an experience on its own and is sure to delight. Let’s together be grateful for our island home and our island artisans. Happy Summer to all!
