FOR JACKSON: A TIME CAPSULE (2004; 49 mins) a film by Leila Sujir.

The AGGV in collaboration with the BC Black History Awareness Society and MediaNet present FOR JACKSON: A TIME CAPSULE FROM HIS TWO GRANDMOTHERS (2004; 49 mins) by Leila Sujir. Produced by LRS productions in co-production with the National Film Board of Canada. A documentary portrait of two Canadian women, Rosemary Brown (1930-2003) and Ruth Horricks-Sujir (b. 1925-2015) who create a time capsule for their young grandson, Jackson.

Screening to be followed by Q&A and discussion with the artist, Leila Sujir, and her nephew Jackson Sujir, to whom the film is dedicated. Admissions by donation | Limited seating available

Jackson Sujir, aka Moses Brown, a young upcoming Afro Canadian rapper with a unique style and powerful poetic messages, will present several of his raps.
Grandson of the late Rosemary Brown, her legacy of truth, equality and justice informs his rap.
