Now that submissions have been selected, Erin Cooper, AGGV Art Rental + Sales Coordinator is excited to give us a small sneak peek at some of the artworks that will be hung in the upcoming Summer Small Works Show & Sale, one of Victoria's favourite recurring art shows, exhibiting an eclectic array of fabulous artworks by artists local to Victoria and the Gulf Islands.

Getting the Summer Small Works Show and Sale ready is always exciting! There’s a real buzz building up to the opening date for both artists and visitors.

The process of an open call for submissions promises visitors a broad variety of mediums and styles to choose from. The Small Works show features artists from the Art Rental and Sales Program and offers a chance to purchase their work at attainable prices. It is also an opportunity for Art Rental and Sales to introduce emerging artists, some who will be showing their work for the first time.

Hanging 200 plus pieces together in salon style is a challenge. With the help of co-workers and the contributions from the talented local art community, the results are sure to be an eclectic and fabulous assortment of pieces.

I hope you enjoy this preview of some of the fantastic works you’ll be seeing this summer.
