A Spoon Full of Sugar: Nurturing Performance Art through Partnership

On November 23, 2024, Holly Timpener ascended and descended the staircase in the AGGV Spencer Mansion foyer for nearly 7 hours. Throughout the day, over 100 visitors witnessed Timpener’s intentional series of actions. Toby Lawrence, AGGV Curator of Contemporary Art, shares her thoughts on the performance and the experience it created within the Gallery space.

Brillo Box (3¢ off) Documentary

Brillo Box (3¢ off), screening in the Drury Gallery, explores the journey of an Andy Warhol sculpture from family heirloom to $3M auction piece, highlighting the evolving value of art. It complements the From Warhol to Banksy exhibition at the AGGV, running through April 27, 2025.

During the Exhibition Opening of Beauty of Mending: Kintsugi and Beyond, we were delighted to host featured exhibition artist, Naoko Fukumaru, as she demonstrated the traditional craft of repairing shattered ceramics with laquer and gold, and in case you missed it, please enjoy some visual highlights from the demonstration.
