As another creative and vibrant fall season wraps up at the AGGV Studio, Meghan Krauss, AGGV Studio Coordinator, looks back and celebrates the diverse programs that brought individuals of all ages into our gallery and studio spaces.

From Pro D Day camps to after-school activities and adult workshops, the fall season in the AGGV Studio offered countless opportunities for exploration, creation, and connection with art.

Our Pro-D Day camps for kids were a highlight as children explored various art techniques, from sculpture to mixed media projects, all inspired by AGGV’s exhibitions. Creativity flowed as students engaged with artists like Kelly Cannell and Brian Jungen, experimenting with different materials and techniques.

For our youngest learners, Little Art Explorers classes remained a favourite. These sessions introduced toddlers and preschoolers to colour, form, and texture in a fun, hands-on environment.

Our after-school programs for kids also flourished, with students diving into creative activities such as clay sculpting and paper-making. These programs drew inspiration from AGGV’s exhibitions, helping young artists develop their skills while gaining a deeper connection to art.

Family Workshops also proved popular, offering families a chance to create art together. From designing holiday cards to making trick-or-treat bags, these workshops fostered creative expression and hands-on learning for participants of all ages.

For adult learners, our studio doors were open to those eager to explore their artistic practices. Classes like Sketch and Paint evenings and Imprinted Clay Vessels provided opportunities to develop skills and find inspiration in AGGV’s exhibits. Self-Directed Open Studio sessions also gave artists the space to work on personal projects with guidance from experienced instructors.

Looking ahead to winter and spring, we are excited to continue offering a range of programs for all ages. Our upcoming Pro-D Day Full-Day Camp on February 14, 2025, invites Grades 1–5 for a day of art inspired by AGGV exhibitions. We will also continue our Little Art Explorers classes for toddlers and preschoolers (Ages 2–5), as well as after-school programs like Drawing Lab (Ages 6–9) and Art Experimentation (Ages 11+), A Saturday Pop Art Fusion class (Ages 10-13) and Spring Break Camps (Ages 8-17).

Families can enjoy workshops such as Pop Art Pie Day and Pink Shirt Day, while adults can explore evening classes like Watercolour Transfer Prints, Drawing: Light and Shadow, and Introduction to Reduction Printmaking. Self-Directed Open Studio sessions will continue to provide a supportive environment for personal projects.

We look forward to the exciting opportunities the new year will bring and invite you to stay tuned for more details on upcoming classes and workshops. Whether you’re a child, teen, or adult, there’s always a place for you to create, learn, and be inspired at AGGV.

Thank you to our sponsor, Monk Office & Art, for their continued support of the AGGV Studio!
