Wanted: Teens For Workshop and Youth Council

Meet The Artists of Tender Works

Last Fall, scholars, theologists, art practitioners and followers of Buddhism gathered at the University of Victoria for a weekend of lectures and performances for In The Present Moment: Buddhism, Contemporary Art and Social Practice, A Research Convening. The opening Orion Keynote Lecture & Performance was Lecture on Nothing with acclaimed New York-based writer and art critic, Kay Larson.

Introducing Dr. Heng Wu

Dr. Heng Wu is joining us as the Gallery’s Curator of Asian Art (Academic). Heng studied journalism and international business in Shanghai and has a Ph.D in Museum Studies from the University of Bergen in Norway. She worked previously at the Nanjing Museum, one of the leading museums in China.

A Study of Grecian Votive Figurines in the AGGV

The authors are trench supervisors with the Eastern Boeotia Archaeological Project, UVic’s archaeological excavation at ancient Eleon in Boeotia, Greece and are currently engaged in a study of the AGGV’s lead votive figurines from the sanctuary of Artemis Orthia, near Sparta, in the region of Laconia, Greece.
